Summary of the Article

A study shows that drugs affect the brain more in a developing brain that it does on a brain that is developed more.
Research is being done to see what kids motivations are to do drugs. Abuse of such things such as smoking
cigarettes, marijuana, and cocaine usually start after the age of 17.

Some of the facts from the article are shocking. It says in the article that 3,000 teens try their first cigarette every
day. That is really sad because there are so many known dangers to smoking, and everyone knows how many people
it impacts in each year. It seems that a lot of kids start using drugs while they are young and then get addicted. It is
surprising to see that 64% of patients who went to treatment came in when they were 20 years old or younger.
Things like school, home life, and their jobs influence and motivate their drug addiction.
