Was the writing goal for the class met? YES

NO

Comments about post assessment results compared to pre assessment results:

I saw so much growth and improvement in all the students, especially the lower students. I was
so proud of them! It is amazing what students can do when they know their expectations and put
a lot of effort into their work.

NEXT STEPS FOR THE WHOLE CLASS

Based on whether the goal was met, and the amount of growth made, should a new
goal be selected for this group of students? YES
NO

If YES, what will it be?

Although, I would still want the students to continue to work on their conventions and
organization, I think the next area they could improve on would be sentence fluency. A
goal for them would be that they will each raise their score by 2 points by the end of the
school year for sentence fluency.

If NO, select the same learning goal but list what changes need to occur in order for the
goal to be met.
NEXT STEPS FOR INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS

Were there students that did not meet the goal or make adequate growth? YES
NO
If so, look at these students assessments. What might explain WHY these students did
not make the expected growth? Consider the following factors that may have hindered the
growth: Content understanding, Student needs, Instructional tools/strategies, Assessments,
Context (i.e. factors influencing students performance on this particular day) etc. Brainstorm
next steps for individual students that did not make the expected growth. Is
additional time needed? Is additional support needed? Should different instructional
tools/strategies be used? If so, what are your ideas for these? Complete the chart below for each
student that did not meet the goal(s). Add rows if needed.
