Experimental conditions
Regular Experiments:
The wall temperatures would range from 50 to 80 F
(10 to 26.6 C)
The crude oil temperature range would be 80 to 110 F
( 26.67 to 43.33 C)
The oil velocity range would be 0.25 to 1.25 m/s
The flow will cover laminar and turbulent flow regimes
Oil properties are as given in the section below
Cold Flow Experiments:
The crude oil shall be cooled to 50 F (10 C) in feed
tank.
The wall temperature would also be at 50 F (10 C)
Glycol-water
to 480C
Glycol is cooled to around 40 to 60 F i.e. 40 C to 150 C.
Oil flow rate: ~8000 to ~12000 BPD i.e.50.88 m3/hr to 76.32 m3/hr
Glycol flow rate: ~6000 to ~ 9000 BPD i.e 42 m3/hr to 64.18 m3 hr
Maximum air flow rate would be 200 CFM.
Experimental conditions
Multiphase Flow Experiments:
The wall temperatures would range from 50 to 80 F
(10 to 26.6 C)
The crude oil temperature range would be 80 to 110 F
( 26.67 to 43.33 C)
The oil velocity range would be 0.25 to 1 m/s
Oil properties are as given in the section below
The water content can be in the range of 0 to 30%
The gas velocities can range from 2 to 10 m/s
