GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PRESENTATION TO THE CLASS

1. Be well prepared; read the Scoring Rubric sheet for Chapter 2 Project
(section entitled “Presenting the model”).

2. Show your model structure as it stands now.


A. Explain what its purpose is (how people use this structure.)
B. Describe any special earthquake-resistant features built into the
structure.
C. Relate your background information research on earthquake-resistant
features for structures to what you attempted to do with your structure.

3. Explain how and why changes were made after the first testing.

4. Be organized and speak clearly and loudly.

5. Practice your presentation. It should be no less than 2 minutes long and no


more than 5 minutes.
