Students have undergone industrial training in various
industries like Seshasayee Paper & Boards, Larsen &
Toubro, SPIC, Mettur Thermal Power Station and TNPL
during their course of study. Industrial exposure is an
opportunity for students to practically employee the technical
knowledge they gain. In addition to this training program,
industrial visits are arranged by the deprtment during their
course of study. Students are encouraged to undergo their
academic projects in reputed industries like Tamilnadu
Petroproduts, Travancore Cochin Chemicals, Gestamp,

Master of Technology in Industrial Safety Engineering is a full
time four semester program offered at the Department of
Mechanical Engineering, Bannari Amman _ Institute of
Technology, Sathymangalam, Erode.
Managing safety in industries requires a multi disciplinary
approach involving technical, scientific and management
aspects of complex engineering, environment and health
system.To achieve this, the course integrates engineering,
health and statutories. The important aspects of the program
includes field training, designed to provide students an
opportunity to learn and feel the work ambience of health,
safety and environmental systems.
The Factories Act stipulates requirements for ensuring safety
in industry. The revised and updated provisions of the Act
obligate the employment in industry of full time Safety
Officers who should be adequate the qualified as such. The
course is approved by Labour and Employment
Department, Tamilnadu as per the G.O. (Ms) No. 181
dated 30/10/2015 which states that, graduates
