The 1920s

Jaden Lafferty

The Stock Market

The stock market in the 1920s
was booming. Many people
took risks in investing to
different companies because
they were enthusiastic about
changing the way of life back
then. Unfortunately in 1929 the
stock market crashed and the
United States went into The
Great Depression.

Entertainment

The entertainment in the 1920s

had made Broadway musicals
very popular. Radio was also
something that made a
breakthrough. The Charleston
was a common dance in this
time.

Automobiles

Ford was the top selling brand

of car at this time. People
enjoyed Ford because it was
cheap but reliable. The
automobile industry expanded
greatly in the 20s.

Prohibition
The prohibition against alcohol
was a huge ordeal in the 20s.
The making or consumption of
alcohol was illegal, but that
didnt stop people from
obtaining it. Organized crime
was more common, big
underground parties happened
more often, and corruption of
police and public officials
occurred.

Jazz
Before the 1920s, jazz music
was considered the Devils
music. It wasnt until it was
introduced in a different way in
the 20s that it started to
become more appreciated. Jazz
was enjoyed by so many
because it broke the rules.
