Technologies
RHEOLATE HX products (6008, 6010, & 6050) are a series of ICI builders that are typically 25 to 50% more efficient
than standard rheology modifiers. Less is really more with
these thickeners, as they improve the application properties with
uniform film build and improved hiding while also offering improved color properties and block resistance. All of the products are zero VOC and APEO free and have been designed to
work across the latest zero VOC latex systems.
RHEOLATE CVS 15 is the next generation mid-shear NiSAT
for low VOC decorative paints. RHEOLATE CVS 15 is highly
efficient compared to typical thickeners currently in the market
and offers improved viscosity stability after tinting.
RHEOLATE 465 is a strongly hydrophobically modified alkali
swellable acrylic thickener which has both ionic and associative
thickening mechanisms. It provides both mid and high shear
rate viscosity with balanced performance for superior packaging and application properties. RHEOLATE 465 is especially
suitable for waterborne architectural high PVC, high gloss and
semi-gloss architectural paints and industrial coatings.
NUOSPERSE FX 665 is a hydrphobic copolymer dispersants
with outstanding water resistance for waterbased industrial and
high performance decorative paints. NUOSPERSE FX 665
is highly efficient and offers excellent compatibility with most
binder systems and RHEOLATE Thickeners.
NUOSPERSE FX 631 is a general purpose copolymer dispersant for coatings and inorganic pigment dispersions. This
product is highly efficient and presents excellent application and
superior color properties.

highwaysI-77 and I-81putting it within a one-day drive of
the majority of the U.S. population. Hoover Color also has easy

Hiwassee, where it maintains its production facilities, laboratories and corporate offices. The main complex comprises 66,000
sq. ft. of production and warehouse facilities, 4,000 sq. ft. of
lab space, and 3,600 sq. ft. of office area. The original plant was
built on this site in the early 1920s, with the last major renovation and expansion completed in 2006.

Ochres. These rich earth tones are the hallmark products for
Hoover Color, especially Raw and Burnt Siennas. Our product
range includes Natural and Synthetic Iron Oxides, Blended Iron
Oxides, Chromium Green Oxides, Van Dyke Browns, Tuscan
Blends and Complex Inorganic Pigments.
Distribution of Pigments (under the manufacturers label and manufactured to Hoover Colors Specification in toll production agreements) - In
order to offer our customers a wider range of colors, Hoover Color has
reached agreements to distribute certain pigments and has contracted the
toll manufacturing of others. Various Synthetic and Natural Iron Oxide
pigments, Mixed Metal Oxides and Van Dyke Brown pigments are all
distributed in order to give our customers a complete range of inorganic
colored pigments.
Pigments for Colored Concrete Products - Hoover Color provides oxides of iron to produce yellows, reds, blacks and browns;

various greens and blues. All of these pigments are produced
by Hoover Color and comply with ASTM test method C979,
Pigments for Integrally Colored Concrete. Hoover Color uses
a computerized color measuring system to measure these color
variations and publishes this information to its customers in a
Certificate of Analysis. This helps to ensure that the color
variation is within previously stated specifications.
Manufacture & Sale of the Hoover Automatic Muller - Since
the 1940s, Hoover Color has always been in the forefront of
color control, developing the Hoover Automatic Muller. The

The Ystral Jetstream Mixer - meets all requirements to
achieve a complete and homogenous mixture in a vessel. The
turbulences provided by the mixing head and strong vertical
circulation allow optimal mixing of the tank or vessels entire
contents without any incorporation of air by a vortex or along
the mixing shaft. Even materials with high viscosities, are fully
influenced. Unlike standard propeller mixers, the medium does
not rotate in the tank and baffles are not required. Even heavy
sediments are fully suspended.
The Ystral Dispermix similar in operation to the Jetstream,
but with a serrated stator. Dispermix causes intensive mixing in
both the micro and macro range of the product. It simultaneously disperses and mixes in one single operation and negates
the need for a second step with a high shear mixer.
Ystral Conti TDS provides dust and loss-free emptying of
containers, feeding of powder, dosing and adding, wetting and
dispersing to a completely agglomerate-free result achieved in
one process step within one machine. Production time is minimized, partial processing steps are avoided and production cost
is reduced to a minimum with higher efficiency of the raw material and higher resulting product quality.
Technical Services
Powder Technologies can also assist you with feasibility and engineering studies, process and plant design, installation, start-up,
training, and maintenance and parts inventory. We have a fully
equipped and staffed test facility, as well as rental equipment for
on-site evaluation.
