Lifeguard and/ or Swim Instructor

Job Description
Hiring Supervisor: Kate Sigurdson
Direct Supervisor: Pool Director
Date position begins: June 6th
Swim Lesson Sessions: June 27th- August 19th
Application Accepted: Until position is filled
Wage Range: $10- $13/ hour- negotiable based on education and experience
Position Responsibilities: All Pool staff: Monitor pool activities and ensures
member safety. Enforce all safety guidelines. Prepare activity and incident reports
as needed. Record and maintain attendance records. Properly use register for pass
and concessions sales including completion of nightly cash out report.
Communicate effectively with director, co-workers and community members.
Maintain a clean facility, as needed.
Water Safety instructors: Plan, organize and conduct swim lesson instruction.
Prepare and complete written reports in relation to individual swimmers.
Qualifications: Minimum 16 years of age. Applicants must hold lifeguard and
CPR/ First Aid/ AED certification. If applicable, Water Safety Instructors must
have appropriate certifications. Must possess effective communication and human
relation skills. Possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical
procedures and maintain these skills throughout the season. Must have the physical
and mental ability to stay alert and respond to emergency situations accordingly.
Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities in order to monitor the pool
environment and swimmers well-being. A friendly and outgoing personality with
the initiative to provide outstanding service to the community.
