The South West is a great place

to live!

Great beaches in
Cornwall

and in Dorset

and mystery and music

at Glastonbury

.. And I live in Swindon!

It is 220 miles from SWINDON

to Penzance!

So getting around the South West isnt easy.

We try and meet in the middle,
Yeovil or Taunton

Big ISSUES for the South West

I have been a Regional Rep for about
7 years.
The big issues for us in the South
West havent changed that much
for us.

It still feels that Speaking Up and

changing things is hard.

We are still worried about

People are still being treated badly when they should
be treated respectfully.
There is less support for Self Advocacy Groups and
more are closing across the country.
There is less support to live safely in our own place
and out in the community.
Councils are not working together with people and
groups as well as they used to

Future Plans for South West

Forum

We want to plan a big Conference with;

Groups to show their work
Workshops on South West issues
Families and Carers to meet and talk
Invited speakers to talk about big ideas for the
future

Meeting the Minister

I have a meeting to meet with a minister from the

Department of Work and Pensions, Justin Tomlinson.
I am meeting him on Friday, March 11th.

He is a Swindon MP.
