ABSTRACT:

ANALYSIS/REFLECTION:

It is emphasized and encouraged that

while our era is dominated by math
science and technology, science and math
is taught in K-12, and teachers are
prepared with the necessary knowledge to
teach these subjects meaningfully.

I agree when the article states that in

today's high-tech world, it is important that
our young people grow to become
confident in their ability to do math and
science in an ever-increasingly high-tech
globally competitive society. This may
definitely benefit their future success but a
concern I would have with this is that there
are many teachers that are stuck with one
way of teaching and lack the knowledge of
certain advancements, especially with
technology. It is unfortunate that the
teacher candidates of this era are not able
to find a job where they can have a class
of their own, while older teachers continue
to lack the integration of math, science and
technology. If these teachers are not
confident themselves in teaching in a
integrated way, how can they possibly help
students develop their confidence and
ability in math and science?

This article emphasizes how important it is

for teachers to aid in developing students
ability in math and science, as this can
impact how students develop in school as
well as their success in future careers.
