Dear Parents,
Next week, we will be having our Book Week activities. We will be having different activities in the
classroom and as a whole school. Please see the list of activities below that we will be doing. We may
need some parents to help us.
March 7-11, 2016 - Book Week

Children will begin to help decorate our classroom doors as a book cover that the
class has chosen

Bring in your favourite book

I will assign 4 children each day during this week to bring one of their favourite storybooks to
bring to school so we can read them to the class. Please make sure that you label the book
that your child will bring to school.
Please see the schedules below:
Monday 7 March- Khanh, Khang, Kim Ha, Nam
Tuesday 8 March- Bao Anh, Bo, Fan Fan, Hana
Wednesday 9 March- Lucas, Se Lim, Matthew, Olivia
Thursday 10 March- Jayden N, Jayden Z, Lola, Duc Vinh
Friday 11 March- Rio, Patrick, Anjo,Tony

Parent Reading

I would like to invite parents to come in the class and read us a story. Please let me know if
you can come so I can arrange our timetable. You can come any day and time during the
week as long as you will not interrupt the specialist classes. You can also read your childs or
your favourite story in your own language or in English.

Book Fair

There will be a Book Fair on a Tuesday. SKJES Dragonflies Class will be going to the Book
Fair at CB campus on Tuesday 8 March from 8:50-9:30am. If you wish your child to purchase
a book, please send the money to school (in your childs communication folder) in a sealed
envelope with your childs name on it. You are also welcome to join us if you wish to be there
to purchase book/books with your child.
There will be a range of fiction and non-fiction materials appropriate for all of the children in the
school. There are lots of books priced between 40,000VND 200,000VND as well as book packs and
reference books ranging up to 700,000VND. Students and parents are welcome to purchase these
books.
Book Fair will be located near the front gate at CB1 from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Thursday 10 March- Pyjama Day

Children are invited to wear pyjamas, bring a stuffed toy to school and their favourite bedtime
storybook.

Photos

Please could you take a photo of your child reading in a different place or in a fun/weird
position and send this photo to school. For example, your child is reading under the table or
inside a box or inside the bathtub. Kindly send the photo via email to
julie.estacion@aisvietnam . We will use the photos for our Book Week display in the
classroom.

Book Character Parade

We will have Book Character Parade on Friday 11 March at Lotus Hall from 8:45am to around
9:30am. Children will come to school dressed as their favourite Book Character. They have to
bring this book with them to school. Parents are welcome to join and watch the Book
Character Parade.

Picnic and Story Reading with the teacher

We will be having snack in different areas of the school during snack time and while having
snack we will be listening to stories.
Book Swap
As part of the fun on Friday, we are going to try something new this year a book swap.
Students are encouraged to bring in books that are in good condition that theyd like to
swap (with parental permission of course!) Students can bring their books for swapping
into school anytime from Monday-Thursday, give them to their classroom teachers who
will record how many books they bring in. Students will have this number written on the
back of their hands so they can go and swap for books on Friday after the book parade.

Learning Journey Sharing

We would like to share our Learning Journey Journal with you on Friday 11 March at
7:45- 8:30am. After the Sharing of the Learning Journey, we will have our Book Character
Parade at 8:45. In case you are not available to come in the morning, we will also offer an
afternoon slot for you to view the Learning Journey of your child at 2:30-3:00pm. Please
let Ms Julie or Ms Anh know which part of the day you would like to view your childs
Learning Journey.

Teacher Swap
Kindergarten Teachers will swap classes to read stories. These will be fun
