In addition to advantages of legacy L-39 versions


such as low operational cost, high reliability,
easy handling and rugged design including wide
track undercarriage with low pressure tyres and
air inlets positioned above the wing in order to
prevent foreign object damage to the engine,
the L-39NG features:
Integrated digital avionics with glass cockpit for
increased training effectiveness
New Williams International FJ44-4M turbofan
engine with FADEC controls and electrical
starting eliminating costly jet fuel starter

Four underwing and one underfuselage weapon


pylons for a wide variety of gun, bomb and
rocket armament and external fuel tanks
Single-piece canopy for improved cockpit visibility
New escape system with zero-zero ejection
seats
Redesigned wing with integral fuel tanks
significantly improving range and endurance
Redesigned aiframe with fatigue life of up to
15,000 flight hours
To reduce operating costs, the L-39NG is
designed for a two-level maintenance approach
