Foregut structures are innervated by T5-T9

sympathetics and so refer pain to the
corresponding dermatome the
epigastric region.

Midgut structures are innervated by

T10&11 sympathetics and so refer pain
to the corresponding dermatome the umbilical

Hindgut structures are innervated by T12L1 sympathetics and so refer pain to the
corresponding dermatome the pubic region
