I, Leroy Lindo, declare and say:

1.

I retired from the San Francisco Police Department (Department) as a

18 Commander on April 1, 2009 a position I held since approximately 2007.

2.

I started by career with the Department in 1977 as a Q2 patrol officer, and was in

20 that position until I promoted to Sergeant in approximately 1989. In 1993 or 1994, I promoted to
21 Inspector.

In approximately 2002, I promoted to Lieutenant, and my last promotion was to

23 Commander in approximately 2007.

I am an African American male, and at the time of my retirement I was 56 years

In my lengthy tenure with the Department, at various levels throughout the

25 old.

27 Department, I have never witnessed, been a victim of, or been a part of any institutionalized
28 racism. To the contrary, the Department does not tolerate racism or discrimination on any other
