RATIOS
A ratio says how
much of one thing is
being compared to
another.
Ratios compare
values.
They can be written
in many ways.

PROPORTIONS
A proportion shows
that two ratios are
equal.
Simplifying the ratios
can determine if they
are proportional or
not.

PERCENT
A percent is a ratio
where the second
term or
denominator is
100.
This symbol means
percent: %

SCALING UP
Scaling up means to multiply
the numerator and denominator
of a ratio by the same number.

SCALING DOWN
Scaling down is when
you divide both the
numerator and
denominator of a ratio
by the same number.

EXPRESSIONS

An expression is a
group of numbers,
symbols and
operations to show the
value of something.

VARIABLES

Variables are
symbols for
numbers that
we dont know
yet and need to
figure out.
