What Are They

An Earthship is a sustainable house made
out of natural and recycled materials.
Michael Reynolds designed and built the
first Earthship
The walls are often made out of earth
and tires that create a very dense and
stable structure.
The house does not need an outside
source of energy or water

Global Model

Separated greenhouse from the main living space allows for the best
temperature control.
The home features cooling through tubes buried in the berm behind
the home. The sloping roof allows higher ceilings near the windows.

Tropical Earthship

1 or 2 story round model since a solar face is not really

needed for heating.
Round shapes are efficient and more hurricane resistant

Survival Models

Simple levels of living as a beginning to a home(Most basic

earthship model)
Costs very little money, and then can add more to it as it can
be afforded.

location.
Then in groups of 5 you all will make a
model of your earthship that could
potentially function on your school
grounds.
