Design a Wilkinson power divider with a P3/P2 ratio of 1/4 and a source impedance of 50 ohms.
What are the S-parameters?
I know the solution of the first question, which is P3/P2=K2 , so K=1/2, then the following design
equation apply: Z03=Z0(1+K2/K3)1/2 Z02=K2Z03, R=Z0(K+1/K). But I do not know how to get
the S parameters.

A metal rod of length L and mass m is free to slide on frictionless rails, as shown in the
diagram. A uniform magnetic field B is directed into the page and the direction of the current is
upward as produced by voltage source V. When switch S is closed an initial force F0acts on the
rod.
A. State the direction of F0.
B. Write an equation describing the resistance of the rod R
C. Suppose a resistor with resistance Rx is placed in series with the rod. Calculate the new
initial force F that will act on the rod the instant switch S is closed.
