BAND FEST: Students going to Band Fest may wear jeans & uniform, School of Aloha, or Pathfinder
shirts for the day. Students need to take their band outfit (black pants or skirt and white shirt) for the
evening program. Students need to be at the school at 6:00 am, and will return between 11pm and
midnight.
8TH GRADE AUCTION: If you would like to make craft items to donate for the 8th grade fundraising
auction on March 12, contact Jackie Hancock as soon as possible.
GRADES K - 3
Spelling Tests (grades 1 3): Unit 7, Week 1: Friday, March 4, 2016
Unit 7, Week 2: Friday, March 11, 2016
Grades 1-4 Science Test: Thursday, March 10. Study materials are coming home with your student
today. (The stapled pages need to be returned in good condition. Please plan to return them the day
of the test.) Doing well on this test is important to their grade. Please be sure your student studies
well the review material given them.
End of 3rd 9 weeks: The third nine weeks of school ends Friday, March 11, 2016. All work needs to be
turned in by that date.
Math Facts: Please help your 3rd grade student practice multiplication facts. Work on speed. Their
goal is to do 100 facts in 5 minutes with 98% accuracy.
Book-It: Keep reading for Book-It. Reports for February are due Monday, March 7, 2016.
Spring Field Trips: Please let Mrs. Williams (989-565-0170) know if you can be a driver for one of our
spring field trips.

PRINCIPALS CORNER

Our policy for Snow days is when the Montabella and Vestaburg Schools close, we close. We
have 5 snow days per year. Thus far we have used 7.5 days. There will be changes to the
calendar for snow make-up days. Listen for one-call &/or watch the website and newsletter.

We are considering a full day of school next Friday March 11, 2016, dismissal at 2:05 pm due to
extra snow days.
Gym night for grades 4-8 is scheduled for tonight; 6:30 to 8 pm. An F in any subject disqualifies
a student from attending. Also a gpa below 2.0 disqualifies a student (this applies to grades from
our last date of Feb 24).
PATHFINDERS:
SABBATH MARCH 5 - PBE Event at Cedar Lake Church at 3:00 p.m. ALL Pathfinders should
attend to support our team members! Elsie, Shelby, Nona, Ryan, Jackie, Joel and Anneliese.
Meeting March 7 - Most PF will be at band fest, however, 5th, 9th and 10th grade will still meet.
March 14 - No Meeting Spring Break
