Parent Teacher
Conferences

A Note from Mr. Field:

Dear Parents,
It will be wonderful to have the opportunity for our staff to sit down with you in two weeks at
Parent Teacher Conferences. Parent Teacher Conference nights will be on March, 14,
16th, and 17th. If you are unaware of your childs specific day/time please call our office
at 669-1970.
Our goal in communicating with you through progress reports, report cards (which will come
home in backpacks next Friday, March 11) and conferences is to share specific information on
how your child is progressing in all facets of their school experience. We know that each
student in our school is an individual with his/her own learning style and pace. Our goal as a
staff is to provide each student with daily differentiated instruction to meet each of our
student's needs. In addition to targeted teacher core instruction, another way that our staff is
able to meet these individual needs is through targeted instruction by paraprofessional support
in the classroom as well as additional technology made possible through federal,Title 1,
funding.
Thank you for your partnership with us in providing your child with a wonderful education,

Notes from Music:

Congrats to all of our students who are performing in the musical Wizard of Oz at the High School
next week! The students have all said that it has been a lot of work but they love it.
Parlez vous francais? Well, our student can a little! Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades have all been
learning to sing a round in French.
Put on your dancin' shoes! Our 3rd Graders have been learning some line dancing skills to Country
& Western barn dance favorites like Cotton Eyed Joe.
A huge "thumbs up" to all of Park's 5th Graders for the impression they made on the Grand Rapids
Symphony field trip. We had several people at DeVos Hall and the restaurants comment on how polite
and well behaved the students were. Also, a huge thanks to Mr. Bolhuis, Mrs. Higgs and Mrs.
Willmore for making this great experience possible!

4th Grade students are gearing up for their upcoming trip to the West Michigan Symphony on May
16th. The Park students will be playing recorder and singing with many other 4th grade classes from
all over West Michigan in this interactive Concert at Fruenthal Theatre in Muskegon.
Coming up later this month, our 5th Graders will learn about their options for Middle School
Music next year, including Choir, Orchestra, and Band. The students will have the chance to try all
of the instruments offered, and ask any questions they may have. Follow-up information will be
going home to parents regarding upcoming question & answer meetings for Middle School Music.
