    Drug Category: Phenylacetic acid. Generic Name: Diclofenac sodium. Contents: SR-100 Tabs: Diclofenac sodium 100mg;
    sustained-release tabs.Disperlet Tabs: Diclofenac acid equiv to Diclofenac sodium 50mg; dispersibletabs. Tabs 50mg:
    Diclofenac sodium 50mg. Inj: Diclofenac sodium 25mg per ml in3ml amp. Indications: Tabs: Musculo-skeletal disorders,
    rheumatoid arthritis,osteoarthrosis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout. Chronic juvenile arthritis. Inj:Acute back pain, post-
    operative pain, pain in acute trauma and fractures, renalcolic. Dosage: Tabs: Adults: 75-150mg daily in two or three
    divided doses. Children:Over 1 year, 1-3mg/kg body-wt. daily in divided doses. Inj: Adults: IM: 75mg IM once or twice
    daily by deep intragluteal inj for max. 2 days. Continue if necessary with tabs. IV Infusion: Maximum 150mg in 24 hours.
    Must not be given by IV bolus injection. By IV infusion diluted with 0.9% saline or 5% dextrose infusion solution. In
    moderate to se-vere postoperative pain, 75mg infused continuously over a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours. For the
    prevention of postoperative pain, a loading dose of 25-50mg should be infused after surgery over 15 minutes to 1 hour,
    followed by continuous infusion of about 5mg per hour up to maximum 150mg in 24 hours. Children: Not
    recommended. Contra-ind: Active peptic ulcer, aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy.Proctitis. Precautions: Monitor
    patients on longterm treatment. History of gastrointestinallesions. Renal, hepatic or cardiac insufficiency. Pregnancy,
    lactation. Hepaticporphyria. Haematological abnormalities. Elderly. Interactions: Salicylates, methotrexate, lithium,
    digoxin, diuretics, cyclosporin,anticoagulants, oral hypoglycaemics, quinolones. NSAIDs, steroids. Adverse effects:
    Transient epigastric pain, Gl disturbances, headache, oedema.Rarely blood dyshaemopoiesis, peptic ulcer, abnormalities
