In Response to
Societal Changes:

The improvement in toilets helped

with peoples cleanliness and
health.

Science

Pushing the handle to pull the chain so the flush valve

releases.
Just about 2 gallons of water goes from the tank to the toilet
bowl in only about 3 seconds. The flush valve will then reset.
The rush of water makes the siphon, in the bowl, work. The
siphon absorbs everything in the toilet bowl down the drizane.
While the level of the water in the toilets tank lowers, so does
the floater. The lowering floater turns the refill valve on.
Water going through the refilling valve refills the toilet s tank
and also the bowl. As the tank fills again, the floater goes up,
and when it gets to a certain point the refill valve turns off.
If something goes wrong and causes the refilling valve to keep
on running, the overflow tube makes sure there isn't a flood.

How Scientists Have

Aided Science
Scientists have aided science by
helping figure how to empty and
refill a water tank just by the
simple push of a handle.

Problem- dirty, smelly, get clogged, flood,

break, unattractive, have to have water to
use them.

The Very First Toilet Ever

The very first toilet ever was a hole
in the ground. A pit toilet, or
compost toilet, is collection of
human waste, used for composing or
waste disposal used mostly in areas
with no sewer system.

An Upgrade.
Outhouse: out houses are wooden
boxes or plastic boxes that have a
toilet in them that need to be
emptied every week.

The Potty Chair >:P

Potty Chair: People had a chair with a
whole in the middle and a pot
underneath for them to go to the
restroom on. They had no pipes and
after they were done, they took the
pot and often threw the waste into
the street.
They had a
lid that came
up and went
down for it
to be a chair
to also sit on

Flush Toilet
A toilet is a plumbing fixture used for
peoples waste like urine, feces, and
vomit. >:P **BLEGH**
Flush toilets are often and normally found
in a restroom/bathroom/powder
room/water closet/half-bath/ect. (those
are the most commonly used terms.)
These type of toilets are attached to a
sophisticated sewage system (S.S.S.) :D
