Introduction & Review
What community are we studying?
Where is it located?
What is the land like there?
What is a main culture?
What is a natural resource?
Body
One of the main cultures in Saskatoon is Ukrainian. Who can
tell me some facts about the Ukrainian culture?
Ukrainians are known for many things, the food they eat, the
beautiful wookworking, pottery, and dyed eggs they make,
and their dancing. I have a video of some Ukrainian Dancing.
As you watch, listen for the speed or tempo of the music, is it
fast or slow? Does it have a catchy beat? Watch the dancers
and pay attention to the regalia (review meaning of the word,
regalia). What kind of colours are part of the regalia? How do
the dancers moved? How do the men dance? How do the
women dance?
