Definition of Heat
Heat is a form of energy that moves from high
temperatures to low temperatures.
Heat is used to melt, vapor, sublime, crystalize, freeze
and more.

Heat Transfer
Radiation
Conduction
Convection

Heat naturally transfers

from high temperature
matter to the lower
temperature matter.

Specific Heat
Specific heat is the amount of heat required to
raise/lower 1kg of matter by 1 degree Celcius or
Kelvin.
Every matter has their own specific heat.

Heat Capacity
The heat capacity is the amount of heat required to raise the
temperature of an object or substance one degree. The
temperature change is the difference between the final
temperature ( T0 ) and the initial temperature ( Ta ).

Heat of Vaporization
= J/kg

Q= m.U

The Heat of Vaporization is the quantity of heat that must be

absorbed if a certain quantity of liquid is vaporized at a
constant temperature.

Heat of Fusion = J/kg

Q= m.L

The enthalpy of fusion also known as (latent) heat of fusion is

the change of form resulting from heating a given quantity of a
substance to change its state from a solid to a liquid. The
temperature at which this occurs is the melting point.
