43 – 4 × 9

Sarimah and her mother went to the grocery store. They bought a carton of eggs. It had 4 rows,
with 9 eggs in each row. How many eggs were in the cartons? Sarimah want to give those eggs
to 43 students in her class. How many eggs she should add more?

Solutions

Carton of eggs : 4 rows

Each rows had : 9 eggs

Many eggs 4 × 9 = 36 eggs

43 - 36 = 7

She need 7 eggs more
