IampleasedtowritethisletterofrecommendationforLisaDailey.EventhoughIhaveonlyknownand
workedwithLisaforfivemonths,Iamincrediblyimpressedwithherknowledgeandskillasaclassroom
teacherandinstructionalleader.

WatchingLisateach,itbecomesclearinstantlythatshecreatesalearningenvironmentthatisrespectful
andrigorous.Shetreatsstudentsfairlywhilestillholdingthemaccountable.Thereisanairofkindnessand
firmness.Lisaintentionallyemploysstrategiesandtechniquesthatrequireeveryonetoparticipateand
collaborateinasafeandtrustingspace.TheclassthatIhavespentthemosttimeinismadeupstudents
whohavestruggledandnotsuccessfullypassedahighschoolmathclassyet.Sheworkstirelesslyto
fosteragrowthmindsetinthesestudentsandsupportthemastheyfillinmissingskillsandmasterhigh
schoolmathcontent.Lisaisastrongadvocateforstudentsforwhomschooldoesnotcomeeasilyand
thosewhohavehistoricallybeenunderservedinoureducationalsystem.

Lisasadvocacyforstudentsispartofherstrongstancearoundequity.AsanewteachertoNorth
Clackamas,shevolunteeredtoparticipateinourInstructionandEquityCadre.Thisisayearlongprogram
thatincludesprofessionallearningaroundinclusiveinstructionalpracticesandcollaboratingwithan
instructionalcoach.Whensherealizedthatmanyofherstudentswerefailinginoneofhermathclasses
duringthefirstquarter,shequicklyreachedoutforcoaching.Afteronecoachingconversation,she
implementednewtechniquesandroutinesthatincreasedthepassingrateofstudentsinthisclass.Her
reflectivenatureanddeepdesireforeachstudenttolearnmakehersuchavaluableasset.

Beyondherexcellentworkasateacherinherclassroom,Lisaalsoreachesoutasaleaderinhermath
departmentandschool.HerhighschoolhasbeendeliberatelydetrackingFreshmanandSophomore
classesoverthelastfewyears.However,therearestillsomemathclassesthatareabilitygrouped.As
theteacherofoneoftheseclasses,sherealizedtheinherentinequityinthesituation.Shehasread,
researched,andreachedouttohercolleaguestochangethis.Throughherleadership,thedepartmentand
schoolarenowengagedindiscussionsabouthowtobestserveeachstudentthroughequitablemath
coursesandpathways.

ThisdistrictissoluckytohavehiredLisaDailey!Notonlyissheanexcellentteacher,sheisalsoagreat
leader.IhighlyrecommendLisaforanypositionwhereherskillsasaninstructionalleadercanbe
leveragedtoimprovethelearningexperiencesstudentsandcolleagues.
