ANALYSTS NOTE: House Bill 1385 raises the required minimum for automobile liability insurance, or
proof of financial responsibility, from $25,000 to $50,000 for one claimant and from $50,000 to
$100,000 for two or more claimants. Additionally, HB 1385 raises the required minimum for property
damage from $15,000 to $50,000.

Conversely, does it eliminate or reduce any taxes, fees, or other assessments?

ANALYSIS: By increasing the required minimum for auto liability insurance, House Bill 1385 will
indirectly raise costs for individuals who purchase automobile liability insurance. (-1)
