The student conducted an experiment to test if rearranging the wavelengths of the colors from a light prism could change the color order from ROYGBIV to VIBGYOR. The student used one prism to disperse the colors and placed a paper with cutouts in front of a second prism. The experiment aimed to see if the second prism would rearrange the colors since their wavelengths had been altered. However, the results or conclusion of the experiment are not provided.

Question Can the color of the light that comes out of a light prism be rearranged from ROY G. BIV to VIN G. YOR? Hypothesis • I think that if I can change the wave lengths of the different colors I think that then they will maybe rearrange themselves. Procedure • What I did was I used a light prism to spread the colors of into the rainbow. I then took a piece of paper and cut holes in where the different colors were. I then put the paper in front of another prism which I thought would have rearranged the colors because the colors wave lengths have changed. Light Prism Info • In optics, a prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. The exact angles between the surfaces depend on the application. How Prisms are used. • A prism can be used to break light into the colors of the rainbow. Prisms can also be used to reflect light, or to split light into components with different polarizations. Types of Prisms • There are four different types of prisms: • Triangular Prism • Abbe Prism • Pellin-Broca prism • Amici prism Pictures
