SOL TEACHER CHECKLIST


PREPARING FOR TEST ADMINISTRATION
Review directions in the administration manual.
Read and Sign the Test Security Agreement.
Remove/Cover any curricular material.
Check computers one per student, charged and hooked to power supply, accessible to
Internet(Test Nav)

DAY OF TEST (add test schedule time)


Collect materials from________________. Verify count and sign.
Make sure your testing materials are secured at ALL times. Never leave unattended.

BEFORE ADMINISTERING TEST (insert time)


Allow students to use restroom before beginning the testing session.
Identify accommodations required for test administration (504s, IEPs, LEP Plans) and
provide these during the test.
Seat students to minimize disruptions/cheating; move personal belongings away from
work stations.
Situate students to be able to charge easily.
Have students needing to charge, plug in chargers before starting the testing
session.
Follow school computer accountability procedures to insure return of all loaned
computers.
Have students restart their computer; log in with testnav as the user name and no
password.
Post Do Not Disturb sign on door.
Take attendance
Read Cell Phone policy; collect and label all electronic devices
Read all sections of the manual that are marked say exactly as scripted.
At the directions to distribute scratch paper and test authorization tickets, individually
pass out scratch paper provided by the STC/CAR, test ticket and other approved test
materials.
Make sure students type in login information EXACTLY as they see it on their test ticket;
test proctors may not log in for a student.

DURINGTEST
Monitor students and follow administration directions as scripted.
Notify your hallway monitor if questions or irregularities (do not write in an email) arise.
Limit phone calls.
Refer to the Monitoring the test and answering student questions guidelines in your test
manual when needing a scripted or guided response.
Per the directions, students raise their hand BEFORE they hit submit (when
students finish, you will want to watch the student submit.) Make sure you follow
the directions in the testing manual for test submission. Collect ALL materials at
time of test submission.
Confirmed all students that tested are in completed status in Pearson.
Use TestNav Troubleshooting guide to address any error messages. Contact CAR/STC
if additional assistance is needed. Do not touch the students computer, wait for
CAR/STC to give further instructions.

If an emergency occurs, contact the CAR/STC immediately. If students must exit the
building, ensure the environment is secure: locked doors, no talking among students,
and no electronic device use

NON-FINISHED STUDENTS (Overflow)


Place ticket, scratch paper and formula sheets on the computer keyboard and close the
computer. Place the computer(s) on a cart and escort the student(s) to the assigned
extended time testing location. Students may not talk or carry their own testing
materials.
Mark on Roster the students who went to alternate testing location.
Complete form for list of students moved to an alternate location.
If students need lunch, provisions will be made in the new testing location.

AFTER ADMINISTERING TEST


When all students have finished, prepare testing materials for return, in this order top to
bottom:
1. Signed Checklist
2. Roster (marked with absences, previously passed, suspended, etc.)
3. Alphabetized test tickets.
4. Do Not Disturb Signs
5. Used Scratch Paper
6. Formula sheets if used
7. Unused scratch paper
8. Any other school issued test materials
Secure a hallway monitor for class supervision. Return materials to be counted and
verified. Sign the affidavit on the SOL Transmittal form that the test was given according
to the regulations of SOL testing.
Finished students are to be released when directed- refer to schools bell schedule

* If a situation arises that you need an administrator, please notify your hallway monitor
and they will retrieve the grade level administrator. Please limit calls to the office for
emergencies only. If a student is a disturbance, do your best to get them in the hallway
to limit classroom disturbance, and notify your hallway monitor.
