There
are many different codes and conventions of music videos. Performance is similar to a live viewing of a band or artist

with them filmed while performing to audience. Narrative music videos are videos following a storyline that usually links to the
lyrics. Surreal music videos are often considered strange with unique humour and content. Animation in music video can be
stop motion or cartoon. Homage are respectful recreation into a music video were parody is the opposite being a more comedy
recreation.

audience similar to a live performance.

This video has strange paper mash humans being hunted down aim to create
unrealistic strange style that based around for the video.

Narrative: The All-American Rejects - Gives You Hell


This video follow a narrative of a neighbour feud both living opposing lifestyles.

Animation: STREET LIGHT - Just Alone


This video use animation to tell a short narrative of a character's journey on a train
through a grim setting.

Homage: Tonight, Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins


This is a respectful recreation of Georges Mlis's silent film A Trip to the
Moon one of the first movie in cinema, recreating many of the scenes

Parody: Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean? PARODY by Bart Baker


This uses comedy to mock Justin Bieber and his own music video to create a
humorous recreation.
