Leadership Theory: Authentic

(Fusco, ORiordan, & Palmer, 2015)

Strengths:
Leader is transparent and enforces
open communication

Aware of their own values, beliefs,

knowledge, and strengths

Allows others to know who they are

and what they represent as a leader

Looks at the past, present, and future

Artifacts

Based on the four principles that

include conscious, competent,
confident, and congruent
Limitations:
Emerging theory with limited research

SGA President: Represented Cohort 2016 at AOTA conference as

the Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD), organized gatherings,
was the voice for OT at TUN, mentor for classmates, and overall
leader of the class

TUN Dancer: Represented OT at the Big Game for TUN where I

helped organize practices, choreograph the dance, and provided
feedback for the uniform and overall performance of the dance

Being too open and honest with

others can create negative outcomes

Vulnerability of the leader can occur

Student Ambassador: Represented OT and TUN, interviewed

potential new members for Cohort 2017, spread awareness of
what OT is to TUN and the community, and overall advocated for
our profession
