FILE
MUNICIPAL
EMPLOYEES

ABSTRACT
This study investigated and analyzed
what
human
resource
training
programs
the
rank
and
file
employees with salary grades 18 and
below of the third class municipalities
of Banga, Lake Sebu and Tupi, South
Cotabato have undergone and if
these had an impact on their
personal and professional growth.

There were 228 employees in this study.


Type of trainings which were identified to
have been conducted by Civil Service
Commission and other agencies:
Induction program
Orientation/Reorientation Program
Professional/Technical/Scientific
Program

Employee Development
Middle Management/Executive
Development Program or
Supervisory Development
Program
Value Development Program
Pre-Retirement Program

On
the
aspect
of
Personal
Development, the result showed
Much Impact specifically on the
areas of:
Self-Image
Human or Intrapersonal Relations
Interpersonal Relations
Motivation
Aspiration

While on the aspect of Professional


Development the trainings that they
had were found to have Much
Impact on:
Job Knowledge
Job Values and Attitude
Job Skills

On by indicator basis of each area

personal
or
professional dimension of growth, the

perceived by the respondents.

Conclusions:
The rand and file employee are
generally equipped for their job
requirements on the basis of their
trainings and as shown on their
evaluation regarding the impact of the
training attended
The respondents perceived the training
programs to have affected much their
personal and professional life.

Recommendations:
The result of the study be disseminated
to HRMO of the Municipalities involved
and not involved in this study for their
decision to continue with such kinds of
training and perhaps to think about
strengthening the programs so that a
very great impact could be felt by those
who participate in these trainings

Impact assessment of other kinds of


trainings
given
to
government
employees particularly those given by
various line agencies, and with the
advancement of technology, training on
computer literacy must be included for
government employees to develop their
knowledge and skills on technical and
clerical works, to make them more
efficient, effective and productive.
