‘Wayne State University
School of Social Work
To whom it may concern,
It is with great pleasure and confidence that I recommend Briana McNeal for acceptance
into the School of Social Work here at Wayne State University. | have known and
supervised Briana for a little over one year now, and I can say without a doubt she would
be an exceptional addition to your program, an addition you would be proud of.
Briana began working at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center as in intramural
official in September 2014. She started off like most officials for us, shy and timid at
first. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that Briana had the potential to
become one of our better intramural officials, Briana was very reliable right from the
start. If needed a sub, or if an official called in sick, she was the first employee willing,
to help us out, Her ability to take in new knowledge and apply it as an official was
awesome to watch, After only a few short weeks of officiating, Briana was already our
best rookie official and was quickly becoming a leader on our staff. By the time the 2015
winter semester came around, I was counting on Briana to help our newer officials,
develop, and she did not disappoint. She led with her confidence, dependability, and her
unique ability to get along with everyone on staff. Being an intramural official can be
difficult at times, especially for a female due to the fact that our intramural sports are
dominated by males. She did not let this affect her work ethic and attitude, and came to
work each night dedicated to performing at her best. This allowed the other females on
our staff to look up to Briana,
believe Briana is an excellent candidate for the School of Social Work at Wayne State
University, Her ability to lead by example, apply and use newly obtained knowledge to
the task at hand, and her willingness to work as a team will allow her to succeed within
the program, I also obtained a Master’s Degree from Wayne State, so | know the hard
work and dedication that goes into earning that degree. Briana has that commitment,
dedication, and work ethic that not only benefits her, but will also benefit the program
she chooses.
