Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) would be having a meet
ing on March 18, in order to decide the Governments calendar for market borro
wing, for the period of April-September.
The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill was cleared by the Rajya Sa
bha. It will become an Act once the President of India ratifies it, which is expect
ed to be a formality. This Act will lead to the creation of regulator for the real est
ate sector to protect the interest of buyers by providing a uniform regulatory en
vironment. This will also ensure a level field for developers. The Act will improv
e buyer confidence and boost demand for residential real estate.
The government is taking major steps to incentivize exploration of oil and gas i
n the country. These reformative steps are expected to boost countrys energy s
ecurity by increasing domestic output and reduce dependence on imports.One
of the biggest changes is the replacement of existing profit-sharing arrangemen
t in hydrocarbon exploration, with a revenue-sharing formula. The government
and private players have been spending a lot of time in courts over disputes reg
arding pricing and cost recovery and hopefully the formula will solve this aspec
t of the relationship.
