Inspections at
Corliss and
Griswold
REAC inspections will be
held throughout the day at
Griswold Heights on April 11
and at Corliss Park on April
12.
By working together, we
can pass this inspection and
continue to provide you with
safe, decent and affordable
housing.
Residents can help by reporting some issues that can
negatively affect our scores.
Please consider the following
items and report any problems to your site manager so
we can properly address
them:

Smoke detectors should

NEVER be tampered
with; this includes disconnecting the unit or
removing the batteries.
Call the site office immediately if any of your
smoke detectors are defective or need batteries.

Celebrate Earth Day 2016 with Troy Housing

On April 23, Trojans
throughout the city will be
working together to clean up
their communities, plant flowers and take pride in their
neighborhoods. Our staff and
residents will be working together with other groups in the
city to get ready for the warmer weather and make our communities healthier places to
live.
Each site will have a clean up
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and any
volunteers residents, family
or members of the public
are invited to come pitch in.
For every volunteer

there is a role in the cleanup.

More specific info for each
will come in Aprils newsletter, will be posted on THAs
website in early April and will
be advertised at each site.

April 23

some sites may have picnics
afterward.
Please dont miss out on this
chance to meet your neighbors
and make your community

From the desk of the Executive Secretary

Daniel P. Crawley
As spring approaches, our newsletter is
getting a new name and many programs
at THA are getting a fresh start.
The homework club at Martin Luther
King Apartments is restarting , we are
planning community gardens at some of
our sites for spring and summer, and
some residents are taking the first steps
to create a tenant association in their
communities.
While change may start slow, now is
the time to plant the seeds for better
neighborhoods. Taking the initiative to

improve your community now is the only

way to see results down the road.
There are many roles residents can play
some big, some small in their
neighborhoods. You can volunteer two
hours every other week to lead a Boy
Scout troop at your site, participate in our
community gardens, become a leader in
your local tenant association, or volunteer
to help clean up on Earth Day. You can
encourage children you know at your site
to take advantage of your Homework
Club, or encourage teens to consider ap-

plying for scholarships available to public

housing and Section 8 residents.
One small step you can take is simply
liking the Troy Housing Authority page
on Facebook or following us on Twitter
and sharing the important information we
post with your neighbors.
Our newsletter is no longer the Post
Script, or an afterthought, because our
communities are not an afterthought. Instead, we focus on creating healthy and
happy Neighborhoods, and we hope you
will join us.
