Beta Notes

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is an organization that promotes

professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education

Message from the President:

Its going to be a busy time for Beta
members! We have so many great activities in
the coming months. We have the combined
meeting on March 5th For years, I never
understood exactly what this was, so, let me
explain. Several chapters meet for a
fundraiser (individual chapters and Schools
for Africa), workshops and a luncheon. There
is no formal meeting, just a relaxed gathering.
This years topic is reading. Two people are
presenting. Sigma Chapters Jeanne is talking
about Bookmates, a program matching adults
and student readers, and author, Majo, is
talking about three of her published
childrens books. Last years program on
stress was one of the best presentations Ive
ever attended and the meal was outstanding.
Also in March, we have a technology workshop.
Have you ever wanted to sell articles on Ebay?
Here is your chance. Alison will show us the
how to or you can donate items for sale to
Beta Chapter. Alison will post them on Ebay,
and after costs, the extra money will go to
Betas scholarship fund. Details will follow.
Our Convention will be held in Somerset on
April 8th 10th. I always look forward to
spending time with my Beta sisters. Please
let me know if you are interested in attending
this year.
Members will be happy to help with your
registration, transportation and lodging.
