March Meeting

Sister Spotlight

Our March meeting was held at Attillos


Restaurant in Johnson City, TN. Inspiration
was read by Holley Ziglar pertaining to an
educators love to the service of our Lord.
Reports of the Nominations Committee were
read and all in favor of nominations for
Secretary Mary Lisa Elliott was decided
upon. Delta Kappa Gammas Student
Teacher of the year nominations were
discussed. Active membership and training
opportunities were provided to the group
and decisions to attend Knoxville training on

April 9 was decided upon by the group.

This months Sister Spotlight goes out to


member Mary Elis Elliot for her active
involvement in becoming our Gamma
Chapter Secretary. Thank You Mary you will
be great!

Guest speaker Lori Paris spoke on


behalf of The Cherokee Chapter of Trout
Unlimited and its involvement in Trout in the
Classroom Initiative to teach students about
conservation, environmentalism, biology,
and life science through a project-based
learning opportunity in which students raise
Rainbow Trout from eggs to Fries and release
into local streams. This effort provides
community steak holders to access public
education in an effort to prepare students for
college and career readiness.
