Another year has passed. We enter the doorway of 2016
and direct our gaze to the unknown future with the hope of a better and blessed life. We do not want to face unpredictable and unannounced events like loss of a loved one, loss of health, economy downturn, etc. in 2016. We want good things to happen to us and our loved ones. But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, You are my God. My times are in your hand (Psalm 31: 14-15) Our times, i.e. the events of life, can be unpredictable and unstable. Yet, let us remember that God walks with us as we enter into the New Year. God is with us in the good and bad times that we will encounter along the way. In Him, we trust. In Him, we place our life into His hands. With God, our hearts can cease to tremble and begin to embrace the peace that He brings. Thus, another New Year is here. We can lift our heads high with confidence because we know in whom we trust.
