Replacing flywheel and clutch - Vw Golf Mk 5

Tools for clutch replacement:


1. VW 3067: Flywheel holding tool

2. VW 3190A: Clutch disk centering tool

3. VW T10027: Tool for adjusting the gear selector

Note: This one is not required for the flywheel/clutch replacement.


4. A transmission jack.
5. An engine support.

Other tools needed:


1. Socket M21 (to unbolt the sub-frame bolt)
2. Torque wrench (up to 80 ft-lb/100 Nm)
3. Sockets: M18 deep (to unbolt the starter)
4. Triple Square Socket M12 (to unbolt the flywheel)
5. Triple Square Socket M8 (to unbolt the axles)
6. Allen Socket M5 (to unbolt the air filter box)
7. Socket M9 twelve points (to unbolt the pressure plate)
8. Sockets: TORX 20 and TORX 30 (to remove belly pan and lower right cover)
9. Sockets: M10, M13, M16, M17, M18
10. Spring clamp removal tool
11. Jack stands
12. Hydraulic jack (to support the differential) + factory jack (to move the engine away from
the subframe)
13. Bungee ropes to hang the unbolted drive axles and few other things
14. Philips screwdriver
15. Rubber mallet
OPERATIONS :
1. Disconnecting battery:

Ground first .... (M10)

2. Remove Top engine cover:

Pull up the engine cover
