MEE328- Refrigeration and Heat Pump

Teacher: Engr. Dr. Abdul Shakoor Khan

Class: B1 FA10, sem. SP13
Slides Lesson-1: introduction (ch-01 of the text by Stoecker & Jones)

REFREGERATION:
It is transfer of heat from a body at lower
temperature to the environment at higher
temperature at the cost of net work done on the
system.
CRYOGENICS:
It is a field of refrigeration for producing ultra-low
temperature upto and near absolute zero.
HEAT PUMP:
It transfers heat from a body / environment at low
temperature to a body / environment at higher
temperatures.
The same temperature machine can
be used for summer cooling and winter heating by
changing the functions of condenser and evaporator
with the help of 4-way reversing valve.
