methods, expectations, and conventions of college-level academic writing
Composition and Rhetoric II (six sections): An eportfolio-based course that focuses on the kind of academic
writing that uses information drawn from research to shape convincing, defensible arguments

Approaches to College Writing I (four sections): An eportfolio-based course that focuses on creating effective
sentences and paragraphs within the context of writing short (250-350 word) essays, and on developing critical
thinking skills
Approaches to College Writing II (six sections): An eportfolio-based course that focuses on composing longer
(500-word) essays and on further developing critical thinking skills
English Composition I (five sections): An eportfolio-based course that introduces students to college-level
writing as a process of developing and supporting a thesis in an organized essay

English Composition II (five sections): Students continue to develop experience in reading, thinking and
writing critically by writing essays that demonstrate ability to analyze and evaluate the ideas of others and
integrate them into their own writing

Basic Writing Skills (one section): A portfolio-based course with emphasis on individual expression in
paragraph form, sentence clarity through knowledge of sentence structure, and correct word forms
Composition I (one section): A portfolio-based course that focuses on development of critical and analytical
