Production

Development
After the release of the music video ''Come to Daddy'' by Aphex twin ,lot of people
suggested to Bjork to request Chris Cunningham to produce a music video for her track ''All
is full of love'' the closing track of the homogenic album.
During the pre production of the music video, Bjork desired that Chris Cunningham capture
the atmosphere '' When the sun comes out after a thunderstorm '' as to keep with the
theme of her album homogenic that was inspired from the Icelandic mythology.
Homogenic album was a new style for bjork ,track which is tributed to her native country
Iceland. In the same album a track called ''Pluto'' stands for death and destructions
whereas ''All is full of love'' stands for a new beginning that is based about Icelandic
mythology , Ragnarok , were various natural disaster happens and the world explodes ,
thereafter , the sun comes up and everything will start all over again.

Development
Homogenic was produced and recorded in Malaga , in 1996 , were Bjork at that time was
living in the mountains for six months .
The track All is full of love was inspired from how she was going through a rough time during
the winter , and suddenly after a while, she was walking in the mountains were she felt that
everything is getting better and that love is everywhere.

''Love is not just about two persons but everywhere around you
even if you are not getting love from a person ''

Lyrics
You'll be given love
You'll be taken care of
You'll be given love
You have to trust it
Maybe not from the sources
You have poured yours
Maybe not from the directions
You are staring at
Twist your head around
It's all around you
All is full of love
All around you

The lyrics starts with a promise of protection and caretaking

Development

After Bjork sent the lyrics to Chris Cunningham, he loved the track and welcomed to do
her music video as it was something that he really wanted to do.

Cunningham associated the track with sex upon hearing it, but was difficult for him to
come up with an idea that is suitable for broadcast.

Bjork explained that she wanted to describe some sort of heaven and a new beginning.

Something that is white and frozen that when love happens it melts .Something erotic.

Treatment

Production

Production

The robots were designed from Chris Cunningham and built by Paul Catling who sculpted the
masks of Aphex twin Windowlicker.

Afters various treatments that Chris Cunningham came up with, he combined all the elements
and created something surreal ,Industrial Robots.

Most of the work was done in the post production as one of Chris Cunningham strengths are to
work with CGI .

During the production the set and props were shot still , and after the robot was replaced with
Bjork as to frame her movements and engaging them with the robot in the post production.

Presentation

''It's a combination of several fetishes: industrial

robotics, female anatomy, and fluorescent light in that
order. It was perfect, I got to play around with the two
things I was into as a teenager: robots and porn.''

Interpretations
In certain music videos people find it difficult to follow the story and the whole
point of the video, for instance in this music video, why are there robots but
not humans ?

What this video is trying to say by showing us robots and not humans ?
It is all about the style and genre of the music that is being portrayed.
To my way of thinking and see things, personally I see this music video very
effective and well structured ,the way of how the director Chris Cunningham
visualised and thought well, he came up with an ideal narrative that combines
all the elements of how Bjork was seeing and describing things when she
wrote the lyrics

''All is full of love '' .
