SA1516-006: Resolution Recommending use of Student Initiative Money

WHEREAS, In August, the University Budget Council met to discuss the restored funds from
the biennial budget, and;
WHEREAS, the council decided to allocate around $63,918 to students to spend on a recurring
student initiative, and;
WHEREAS, after speaking with Provost Morgan, the Director of the Murphy Library, the
Undergraduate Research Office and several others, the Student Senate has decided to allocate the
$63,918 to the following:
62% (approx. $39,629) to the Murphy Learning Center
31% (approx. $19,814) to Undergraduate Research Grants
7% (approx. $4,474) to NCUR funding
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the student representatives on Joint Planning and Budgeting
propose and support the aforementioned distribution of the student initiative funds.
