1. TITLE
What Gum Brand Has The Most Flavor?
2. ABSTRACT
Before the lab began we knew that we are going to test 4 different gum brands.The 4 brands are Dentyne, Wrigleys, Trident, and
Juicy Fruit. We were wondering what brand out of these 4 brands last the longest with the most flavor.And we hypothesized that
Juicy Fruit will have the most flavor, because this brand has the biggest pieces of gum in their product.
Our procedure was to choose 4 brands of gum.Then chew 1 piece of each brand of gum, until it runs out of flavor, while timing
it. Lastly record data. We found that the more healthier the gum is for your teeth, the less the time flavoring will last.
We explained our finding by saying that Juicy Fruit last the longest and is a better quality gum.
3. INTRODUCTION
Before the lab began we knew that Juicy fruit is a brand made by Wrigley, that lots of people enjoy. Also Juicy Fruit is sold in 5
different ways. These 5 different ways are Juicy Fruit Original, Juicy Fruit Sour Green Apple, Juicy Fruit Bubble Gum, Juicy
Fruit Chews, and Juicy Fruit gum with Starburst Flavors. In 1893 Juicy Fruit gum was introduced.

Dentyne smelled minty. The Trident came in a light blue packet, the Juicy Fruit came in a bright yellow packet, and the Dentyne
came in a electric blue packet.
4. QUESTION & HYPOTHESIS
For this lab our question was which gum brand last the longest with the most flavor.
If Juicy Fruit last the longest with flavor, then Juicy Fruit is the better brand, because their flavors last the longest.
5. MATERIALS

Juicy Fruit gum

Trident gum
dentyne gum
Wrigley gum

6. PROCEDURE

Gather 4 brands of gum

Observe each pack of gum with 5 senses
Chew one piece from each brand 1 at a time
Time each piece while chewing until flavor is gone
Record data

Our pattern was the healthier the gum is for your teeth the less flavor it has.
This pattern is supported by Trident lasting 30 seconds with flavor and Juicy Fruit lasting 8 minuets with flavor.
8. CONCLUSION
Our hypothesis was accecped because we hypothisized Juicy Fruit would last the longest, and Juicy Fruit did last the
longest.Data supports our hypothasis by Juicy Fruit lasting 8 minites, and Trident lasting 30 seconds ,and Wriglys lasting 4
mimutes, and Dentyne lasting 2 minuets. Some possible errors include pieces of gum not getting the correct amount of flavoring
at the factory and scientist test the bad pieces of gum and record false data.Our results are conclusive because we timed each
peice of gum correctly. Also weve recorded all our data appropriately.
We inferred that our pattern exists because at the factory, the formula they put in cavity fighting chewing gums dilutes the sweet
flavoring they put in the gum causing it to go flavorless faster. Our results connect into our hypothesis because it was accepted.
As a result of our research we were wondering: Would our results be different if we compare Hubba Bubba, and Orbit gum?
