One such product is a


Pashmina Shawl.
Real pashmina is a type of
cashmere wool that comes from
pashmina goats in the
Himalayas. It is very costly.

Whereas in markets such as the


United States, it is retailed for
around 200-600 $

With only the domestic to


internatioal trade markup
going upto 400%;
Indian textiles, specifically
pashmina shawls, are a trade
oppurtunity mostly untapped
due to high domestic demand.

Indian traditional and handcrafted products have always


been accepted in foriegn
markets

Hand crafted jute bags, brass


sculptures, hand woven textiles
have been exported to many
countries at growing rates.
These include U.S.A. , U.K. ,
Sweden, Spain, etc.

The government of India has


even set up institutions like the
EPHC which look after the
welfare of handicrafts
exporters.
Even leveraging trade barriers
to promoting the growth of this
industry.
