    Abstract
    e3CivicHighislocatedintheEastVillage,andwe,asstudentsfromthisschool,form
    partofthiscommunityaswell.Forthisreason,wecreatedasurveyforitsresidentsinorderto
    gettoknowbettertheirneedsandthoughtsaboutthecommunity.TheresultsshowthattheEast
    Villageresidentsareoverallhappyaboutlivinghere.Though,theirlackofengagingactivities
    andplaceswheretheycanconnectwithotherpeopleisevidentlyshowninthesurveyresults.
    Afterwards,thisinformationwasextremelyusefulandessentialinordertounderstand
    betterwhatthesepeoplewant,andinthiswaydevelopandimproveourprojectsforbusinesses
    andservicesthatwillpositivelyimpactthecommunityofEastVillage.

    Introduction
    Theseniorclassate3Civichighhasbeendevelopingplansforbusinessesandservices
    thatwillpositivelyimpactthecommunityofEastVillage.TheEastvillageisthelargesturban
    communityindowntownSanDiego.Itcountswithadiversityofmorethan700businessesthat
    gofromrestaurantsandbarstohotelsandartgalleries.Wedesignedasurveytocollectsome
    dataregardingtheEastVillage,itsresidents,theirneeds,andtheiropinions,inordertofinda
    moreaccuratewaytoimprovethecomfort,affordability,andentertainmentforthisdistinctive
    community.Afterwards,wewillutilizethisdatatoimproveourownbusinessplan:a
    recreationalcenter.Givingusmoretoolsinordertoachieveourcenterspurpose:toseekand
    strivetobeinclusiveandadaptabletotheneedsoftheEastVillageinhabitants.

    DataCollectionMethods

    Aspreviouslymentioned,thedatawerecollectedfromasurveymadetotheEastVillage
    community.TheEastVillagehasapopulationofabout13,000residents.Oursurveysample
    sizewas364people,whichgivesusadataerrorrateofabouta7%.
    ThesurveywasdistributedbyTheEastVillageResidentsGroup,whoemailedthesurveyto
    everyoneontheirmailingcontactlist.Inadditiontothis,itwaspromotedelectronicallywitha
    link,whichwaspostedonsocialmedia,aswellastheDowntownNewspaper.
    OursamplesizemaynotberepresentativeofthewholeEastVillagepopulationbecause
    weonlytested2.8%oftheentirepopulation.Though,theinformationisusefultohavea
    generalizationabouttopicsrelatedtotheEastVillageanditscommunity.

    stronglyagree.FigureAshowsthe
    responsesforthestatementEastVillage
    offersenoughrecreativespaces.After
    analyzingthesurveyresults,Ifoundthat152outof364peoplerespondedwitha1or2,meaning
    that41.8%ofpeopledisagreethatEastVillageoffersenoughrecreativespaces.FigureAalso
    showsthat35%ofpeoplerespondedwitha3,whichrepresentsneutralitytowardsthestatement.

    Conclusions
    Basedonthefindingsofthesurvey,IthinkthatwhatIammainlyconcernedwithhereis
    thattheEastVillageresidentsfeelsomethingismissingsomethingthatcomplementstheir
    communityandmakesitevenbetterthanitalreadyis.Firstly,letusanalysethesurveyresultson

    ,showingthatthemajorityofpeoplefindithardtofindrecreativespacestospendtheir
    timeintheEastVillage.Consequently,letusproceedwith
    FigureB
    ,showingthatthemajority
    ofpeoplefeelneutralwhenitcomestohavingopportunitiestoconnectwiththeirneighbors.All
    thisdatademonstratesthatthepeopleintheEastVillageareboredandnotcompletelysatisfied
    withwhatthiscommunityoffersthem.Thingsthatarestillunclearincludewhatkindofnew
    businessestheseresidentswouldliketoseeandwhatspecificservicesaretheonesthis
    communitylacksof.Perhapsmoreresearchshouldbedoneinthefutureifwewanttoobtain
    moreaccurateresults.
    Overall,itismybelievethattheEastVillageneedsmoreengagingactivitiesinwhichits
    residentscanspendtheirtimein,andcaninteractwithneighborsandothercommunitymembers
    atanaffordableprice.Presentingthemsomethingthatwillrejuvenateandsparkthiscommunity
    byprovidingitsresidentsbasicallywhattheyareaskingfor:aplacetomaketheirlivesinthe
    EastVillageamore
    gratifying
    experience.
