As a teacher, I strive to support my students every day through dynamic, inclusive and engaging
teaching methods. I believe that a teachers role is to guide students to deeper understandings and
to build a curriculum that is meaningful to students. I believe that all students are capable, can think
critically and develop their own ideas. As a teacher, I work every day to create a classroom
community where every student feels safe, valued, and willing to share their thoughts.

Designed and implemented a publishing cycle on small moments writing, from brainstorming
ideas through final book publishing
Participated in and led lessons in a workshop based classroom for reading, writing, and

Built communication with parents through parent/teacher/student conferences, blog posts,
and notes home as needed
Wrote math problems based on cognitively guided instruction problem types that integrated
topics taught in other subject areas
