SHOOTING INTO AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE

The Fauquier County Sheriffs Office is investigating an early morning incident reported
at approximately 1 AM at the intersection of Bastable Mill Road and Old Dumfries Road in
the Catlett area.
Deputies are looking for a Toyota Tacoma or similar style pickup truck, dark in color with
oversized tires. The driver is described as a white male with short dark hair and a dark
colored t-shirt armed with a silver handgun.
The 21-year-old male victim reports traveling north on Bastable Mill Road when he was
approached from behind by a truck traveling at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle
is alleged to have attempted to pass and continue driving aggressively to the intersection
with Old Dumfries Road.
As the victim turned at the stop, sign his vehicles window shattered. At this point the victim observed the white male driver pointing a handgun out of the drivers window of the
pickup truck at the victim. The victim attempted to follow the truck on Old Dumfries Road
but lost sight of it near Rt. 28 in Catlett.
Further investigation revealed the suspect shot at the victim at least twice with a handgun. This incident is under active investigation.
