Uncomplicated: no structural or functional abnormalities of urinary tract,

with normal flow of urine (generally females 15- 45 )


Complicated : result of a predisposing lesion of the urinary tract or neurologic deficit that interferes with
normal urine flow and urinary defenses.

urethritis: infection of urethra
cystitis: infection of the upper urinary tract
prostitis: infection of the prostate

carbapenems

cystitis
Trimethroprim-sulfamethazole 1 tablet po bid x 3 days
Pyelonephritis
ciprofloxacin 500mg bid x 7 days
Trimethroprim-sulfamethazole 1 tab bid x 14 days
