Watertown School District:

February 24th, 2016

I am writing in regard to the elementary teaching positions the Watertown

district has, or will have in the near future. I would very much like to be
considered for job openings at that K-8 level. I would love to become part of the
Watertown team of educators that are shaping the youth of our community. I
have had a first hand view for most of my life of what the district represents and
the commitment it has to its students. In my view there is no other district that
compares in staff, teaching resources, technology innovation, and overall school
pride as the Watertown Arrows.
I attended school at Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Watertown
High School in 2013. I attended the first two years of college at SDSU and
finished at DSU. I call Watertown home, and would like to settle in this area. My
family and extended family live in this community, and I have always liked the
balance of city and rural that comes from a town like Watertown. The people are
kind and always willing to lend a helping hand if needed. I want to teach in a
district that holds those values true. Family, community and education are the
pillars that support a young child. I would like to be a part of that success as an
educator in the Watertown district.
I will receive my bachelors degree in Elementary education from Dakota
State University this spring. I have my endorsement in math education. My
student teaching has been at Lincoln Elementary in the 5th grade classroom.
Under the guidance of Ms. Tammi and Dr. Patrick my student teaching has been
such a positive experience. Everyday I feel excited about the profession that I
have chosen, and look forward to having the opportunity to work with young
students. Their energy is contagious, and I cant imagine wanting to be in any
other environment than a classroom.
I know that I can be a great part of your team, and I hope that we can have
a meeting face to face to discuss my application more. I look forward to visiting
with you in the near future.

Sincerely,
Mandy Tetzlaff
