Chris has been a student in my Algebra 2 and Direct Credit Precalculus / Calculus classes. In these classes, he is able to see things in different ways that help his problem solving skills. In addition to his academic side, he appropriately adds to the social atmosphere.

As a teacher of Mathematics at Pine River Area Schools, I have the privilege of working with many different students. One I have enjoyed working with this year is Chris LaPointe. Chris has been a student in my Algebra 2 and Direct Credit Precalculus/Calculus classes. Over the course of these two very different classes, I spend a lot of time teaching mathematical thinking skills, as well as the detailed and rigorous Algebraic methods of Calculus. In these classes, Chris is able to see things in different waysout-of-the-box waysthat help his problem solving skills. In addition to this, he is developing a better work ethic towards finishing tasks that arent necessarily his favorite. This is an exceptional skill to hone, and he is well on his way. In addition to his academic side, Chris also appropriately adds to the social atmosphere of the classroom. He tends to be in tune with his surroundings and chooses to add positively to the atmosphere, something greatly desired in the high school classroom. The level of respect he has earned from his peers is also very apparent as he works with others. Chris has a good attitude in my class and he has a good disposition. I have no reservations about his conduct in school and his ability to succeed when he places his mind to a particular task.
